GEA embarks on a strategic move to Unify Employers in the Shea Sector of Ghana
The Ghana Employers Association (GEA), in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), successfully organized a pivotal stakeholder engagement aimed at establishing a unified trade association for shea industry players in Ghana called Ghana Shea Employers Association (GSEA). The event, held on July 16, 2024, at Nim Avenue Hotel in Tamale, brought together key stakeholders from across the Shea value chain.
The primary objective of the meeting was to review and discuss the draft constitution for GSEA, as well as gather feedback and suggestions from the stakeholders to refine the constitution. The key areas of focus included the proposed structure, membership criteria, governance framework, objectives, membership benefits, and strategic initiatives for the association.
The feedback and suggestions from the meeting will be incorporated into the draft constitution, and a follow-up meeting will be scheduled to finalize the constitution, elect leaders for the Association and officially launch it in October this year.
