CIHRM Visits GEA to Forge Strategic Collaboration
GEA has hosted the national leadership of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management (CIHRM), led by its President, Dr. Edward Kwapong. The visit aimed to introduce CIHRM’s newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Francis Eduku to GEA and to discuss potential areas of collaboration between the two organizations.
During the meeting, Dr. Kwapong and Dr. Eduku outlined key areas where CIHRM and GEA could work together to enhance the landscape of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations in Ghana. These areas include joint research on industry data and workplace issues, policy advocacy and dialogue, training and capacity development programmes, as well as co-publication of materials on labour matters.
Mr. Alex Frimpong, CEO of GEA on the other hand, reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with CIHRM. He emphasized that collaboration between the two organizations would be instrumental in addressing the evolving needs of the business community and ensuring the effective management of labour relations in the country.
The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to develop a strategic plan for future joint initiatives. This collaboration is expected to yield significant benefits for GEA members and the broader industrial sector by fostering a more robust and responsive approach to human resource management in Ghana.
