We are a powerful force, advocating for policies that matter most to businesses. Ghana Employers’ Association (GEA) communicates the Ghanaian business voice to government and other relevant key stakeholders both locally and internationally.
We also provide a wide range of professional services and management training to members in all aspects of human resource management, industrial relations, occupational health and safety, employee relations and employment law. GEA is the largest national Employers’ Organization whose membership comprises enterprises operating in all sectors of the economy.
Brief History
After independence in 1957, workers were organized under a central trade union and given powers under the Industrial Relations Act, 1958 to negotiate, enforce collective agreements, and defend their interests in all establishments. It was against this backdrop that employers also came together to establish an Association to enhance and protect their interests as well as provide a forum for consultation among themselves.
