GEA and Organized Labour proffer policy recommendations to restore macroeconomic stability in Ghana
The Ghana Employers’ Association (GEA), Trades Union Congress (TUC), and Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL) have held policy discussions and proffered policy recommendations to Government on measures and strategies to restore Ghana’s macroeconomic stability.
The key focus areas of the various recommendations centered on the following:
- adherence to strict Fiscal consolidation measures
- ensuring debt restoration and sustainability
- implementation of effective monetary and financial policies
- stabilization of the exchange rate
- the need to support local industries
- Expansion of the digital sector of the economy
- Deepening of social dialogue
Details of the recommendations on the above focus areas have been submitted to Government through the Ministry of Finance for consideration and implementation in 2023. It is the hope of the bipartite partners that Government considers the various recommendations to facilitate the creation of enabling business environment for enterprise growth and development.
