GEA Speaks at the Launch of a Guide to Youth Rights at Work
At a virtual dialogue and launch of a guide to youth rights at work held by the International Labour Organization (ILO) on Wednesday, 14 February 2024, Mr. Kingsley Laar, Economist and Researcher at the Ghana Employers’ Association (GEA) shed light on specific strategies Business Member Organizations can implement to address the unique challenges of young people who are into entrepreneurship and self-employment due to limited opportunities in wage employment. He also highlighted how governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations, and broader stakeholders can work together, for and with young people, to advance youth rights at work.
The event, which attracted over 200 participants across the globe ended with the launch of a global guide to support stakeholders’ initiatives aimed at raising young people’s awareness of their rights at work, with a focus on those in forced displacement contexts.
