SSNIT to Conduct Nationwide Mass Inspection Exercise — GEA Calls for Member Cooperation
The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has formally notified the Ghana Employers’ Association (GEA) of its intention to conduct a Mass Inspection Exercise across the country during October and November 2025.
The exercise, according to SSNIT, forms part of its statutory mandate to ensure effective administration of the Basic National Social Security Scheme. It aims to reconcile employers’ contribution records and balances with the Trust’s internal database and to verify compliance with social security reporting obligations.
GEA wishes to inform all member enterprises that the inspection teams from SSNIT will be visiting selected companies nationwide as part of this exercise. Employers are therefore encouraged to extend full cooperation to SSNIT inspectors when contacted or visited. This includes:
Ensuring that all relevant SSNIT contribution records, employee registration details, and payroll documentation are readily available for verification;
Designating responsible officers to liaise with SSNIT representatives during the inspection; and
Promptly addressing any identified discrepancies in contribution submissions or records.
The Association recognizes that this exercise is an important compliance and data-reconciliation initiative that will enhance transparency and strengthen the integrity of the national social security system. GEA will continue to engage with SSNIT to ensure that the process is conducted smoothly and with minimal disruption to business operations.
Members requiring further clarification or support may contact SSNIT via +233(302) 962902 / +233(302) 960935 / +233(302) 678455 for assistance.
